Exercise: What Personal Power Do You Have?

This exercise is designed to get you thinking about the amount of personal power you currently have. By focusing your attention here, you will begin to notice more things which make you powerful. It is common for people to be unaware of the things they have (or do) which influence others.

If you can do this with a friend or colleague, so much the better!

  1. Look at the list of personal power words (in the next article) and mark each one you think that you have and which helps you to be influential.
  2. Summarise the top 5 or 6 words here — which are the ones that are most helpful when you influence?
  3. Study the [intlink id=”2083″ type=”post”]Nine Sources of Power[/intlink] and identify the top three which you tend to focus on when influencing others.
  4. Take a little time to review these with a friend.

Note: If you have a copy of your Personal Power Diagnostic, this will help with this exercise.
